Radio Frequency Interference
RFI can be defined as one electronic or electrical device impacting on another as to cause that device to malfunction. With the new digitally designed cordless phones, RFI has become less of a problem but nonetheless it still exists.
Even with spread-spectrum cordless phones, RFI can exist. RFI can be caused by computers, power lines, other cordless phones on the same frequency, electric fences, unsurpressed electric devices.
However, analogue cordless phones are particularly susceptible to RFI. The problem of sourcing the interfering device can be time consuming and difficult, however solutions are available and you should contact McNeill Wireless if you are experiencing Interference with your cordless phone.
Antenna Corrosion
Corrosion on antennas can cause the antenna system to fail and not radiate full RF power over your site. The corrosion can be caused by dissimilar metals or electrical joints breaking down due to atmospheric pollution and general weather patterns
