Antenna Installation Instructions

KXT3000 Antenna Install

  • Make sure wing nuts are very tight, but not so tight as to shear off.
  • All dipoles face down.
  • Apply silicon sealer to screw connections.
  • Use insulating tape. This stops the cable sliding down mast.
  • Correct polarity of the balun is required. E of the balun goes to E of the antenna.
  • Make sure the mast is in the perpendicular position and the stays are spread out in a 'V' position on the roof. Position the stays on the mast about half way up.
  • If drilling a hole in the roof for the cable to go through, make sure it is well RTV'd with silicon sealer, or better, use a rubber 'O' ring for the cable to go through.
